Nan pati wo Nòdwès la ki rele Senlui Dinò a, zafè koupe pyebwa ap fè ravaj. Kontrèman ak kèk lòt kote nan depatman an, rejyon sa gen anpil pwoblèm nan zafè koupe pyebwa.
Tout zòn nan te kouvri ak anpil pyebwa lontan, men konnye a yon bon pati ladan fin tounen dezè.

In the upper northwest area of Saint Louis du Nord, massive deforestation continues to take a heavy toll. Unlike other parts of the department, this region still suffers from severe tree loss, leading to the disappearance of shade-dependent species, widespread erosion, soil depletion, loss of biodiversity, and increased flooding downstream.
Once covered with scattered vegetation, the landscape has been rapidly transformed by deforestation. At the same time, pollution from unprotected water sources poses serious health risks to local residents. Poor waste management, combined with the growing consumption of imported, non-biodegradable products, has further intensified these environmental challenges.
A widespread lack of environmental awareness remains at the core of these issues, as waste is frequently discarded on land, in rivers, and in the ocean — worsening the cycle of ecological damage.
